The Princess and the Frog

In 1926, New Orleans, a teenager named Tiana dreams of opening a restaurant. She works two waitress jobs to earn money, leaving no time for a social life. The arrogant Prince Naveen of Maldonia arrives in town, and intends to marry Tiana's wealthy best friend, Charlotte La Bouff, because his parents have cut him off from the family fortune. Charlotte's father, Big Daddy, hosts a masquerade ball in Naveen's honor, and Charlotte asks Tiana to make beignets for the party, paying her enough to buy an old mill to convert into her restaurant. Naveen and his valet, Lawrence, encounter Dr. Facilier, an evil voodoo witch doctor who plans to rule New Orleans. Facilier turns Naveen into a frog and Lawrence into a doppelganger of Naveen, using a voodoo talisman containing Naveen's blood. Facilier intends for the disguised Lawrence to marry Charlotte, then kill her father with a voodoo doll so he can gain the La Bouff fortune.
At the ball, Tiana learns she has been outbid for the mill and accidentally spills food on her outfit, so Charlotte lends her a princess costume. Feeling disheartened, she begins wishing on a star when Naveen appears. Mistaking Tiana for an actual princess, he asks her to kiss him to break the spell, offering her a reward. Tiana reluctantly agrees to save her restaurant, but instead turns into a frog as well. They are chased into a nearby bayou, where they meet a jazz-loving alligator named Louis. When they explain their predicament, he suggests they seek the help of Mama Odie, another voodoo practitioner who lives in the bayou. The trio comes across a Cajun firefly named Ray who helps them find Mama Odie's abode and he had a girlfriend named Evangeline, an Evening Star in the sky. During the journey, Tiana and Naveen begin developing romantic feelings for each other, especially after Naveen learns to be more responsible.
Meanwhile, when the talisman containing Naveen's blood runs out, Facilier asks his "friends on the other side", a legion of voodoo spirits, to help retrieve Naveen, offering them the souls of the city's population once he succeeds in taking over, and they grant him an army of shadow demons for his bidding. Mama Odie confirms that only Naveen kissing a princess can break the spell. Tiana realizes that since Charlotte's father has been crowned Mardi Gras king, Charlotte will be a princess until midnight. The group hitches a ride on a steamboat back to New Orleans, during which Naveen tells Ray about his love for Tiana and plans to propose marriage to her. After talking to Tiana, Naveen selflessly decides against proposing, since transforming him and Tiana into humans and financing Tiana's restaurant is contingent on him marrying Charlotte. The shadow demons capture Naveen and bring him to Facilier to replenish the talisman with Naveen's blood. After Ray tells Tiana of Naveen's love for her, Tiana heads to the Mardi Gras parade to find Naveen, only to see the disguised Lawrence marrying Charlotte.
Ray rescues the real Naveen and steals the talisman, but is mortally wounded by Facilier, who then offers to make Tiana's dream come true in exchange for the talisman. Refusing to dishonor her father, Tiana destroys the talisman into the ground, leading the voodoo spirits to claim Facilier’s soul and drag him into the underworld as punishment for failing to pay back his debt. After Lawrence is arrested, Tiana reveals her love to Naveen, and Charlotte agrees to kiss Naveen, but the clock strikes midnight before she can do so. Tiana and Naveen see Ray die, being held by Louis, and Ray is reincarnated as a star beside Evangeline in the night sky in front of his friends and his firefly family in a bayou during his funeral.
Tiana and Naveen are wed by Mama Odie and then restored to human form when they kiss, since Tiana is now truly a princess. They return to New Orleans and open their restaurant, named Tiana's Palace, as Ray and Evangeline watch them dancing together.

Lilo & Stitch

On the planet Turo, the United Galactic Federation convicts Dr. Jumba Jookiba of illegal genetic experimentation; he has created Experiment 626, an aggressive, near-indestructible creature with advanced learning capabilities. Captain Gantu is tasked with escorting 626 into exile, but 626 escapes and hijacks a space cruiser that crash-lands on Kauaʻi, Hawaii, on Earth. Shortly after landing, 626 is run over by three passing trucks and taken to an animal shelter. The Federation's Grand Councilwoman offers Jumba early release if he retrieves 626, assisted by Agent Pleakley, the council's Earth expert.
On Kauaʻi, orphaned teenager Nani Pelekai struggles to care for her lonely and rambunctious younger sister, Lilo, after their parents died in a car crash. Social worker Cobra Bubbles doubts Nani's ability to serve as Lilo's guardian and threatens to place Lilo in foster care if their situation does not improve within three days. After overhearing Lilo wish for a friend, Nani takes her to the animal shelter to adopt a dog. Lilo adopts 626, who is impersonating a dog, and names him "Stitch". Jumba and Pleakley, disguised as tourists, attempt to capture Stitch. When Stitch attacks Pleakley at the Lūʻau where Nani works, Nani is blamed and fired. Bubbles orders Nani to find a new job and instructs Lilo to teach Stitch to be a "model citizen".
Despite Lilo's efforts to domesticate Stitch, his destructive behavior repeatedly sabotages Nani's attempts to secure employment. While Nani, Lilo, and Stitch go surfing with Nani's friend and former co-worker David Kawena, Jumba and Pleakley make another attempt to capture Stitch. During the chaos, Stitch unintentionally pulls Lilo underwater; Nani rescues Lilo, and David rescues Stitch. After witnessing the incident, Bubbles informs Nani that he will return the next morning to take Lilo. Feeling guilty for causing trouble, Stitch runs away. Having failed their mission, Jumba and Pleakley are dismissed by the Grand Councilwoman, who assigns Gantu to capture Stitch. Now unrestrained, Jumba pursues Stitch using more aggressive tactics. When David tells Nani about another job opportunity, she leaves Lilo at home alone. Jumba and Pleakley chase Stitch back to the Pelekai home, and their fight results in an explosion that destroys the house.
Nani secures the job but rushes home after seeing a fire engine heading toward her house, and Bubbles arrives to take Lilo. As he and Nani argue, Lilo runs into the woods and encounters Stitch, who reveals his alien identity moments before Gantu captures them both. Stitch escapes just as Gantu's ship departs with Lilo. Nani confronts Stitch, but Jumba and Pleakley capture him as well. When Nani pleads with them to rescue Lilo, they refuse, stating they are only authorized to capture Stitch. As Nani breaks down, Stitch recalls ʻohana, the concept of family that Lilo taught him, and convinces Jumba to help. Jumba, Pleakley, Stitch, and Nani board Jumba's spaceship, pursue Gantu, and rescue Lilo.
The Grand Councilwoman arrives to retrieve Stitch and dismisses Gantu for endangering Lilo and failing his mission. After witnessing Stitch's changed behavior and learning that Lilo legally adopted him from the animal shelter, she allows Stitch to remain on Earth to serve his exile. She also places the Pelekai family under the protection of the United Galactic Federation. Bubbles reveals that he is a former CIA agent who previously encountered the Grand Councilwoman in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1973. Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley become part of Lilo and Nani's family, and together with David and Bubbles, they rebuild the house.

Encanto

An armed conflict forces young couple Pedro and Alma Madrigal to flee their home village in Colombia with their infant triplets, Julieta, Pepa, and Bruno. Pedro is killed, but the candle Alma carries gains a magical power that repels the attackers and creates Casita, a sentient house located in a magical realm bordered by mountains.
Fifty years later, a new village thrives under the candle's protection, which grants "gifts" to each Madrigal descendant when they turn five, which they use to serve the villagers. Bruno, who was vilified and scapegoated for his precognition, disappeared ten years earlier, and Julieta's youngest daughter, Mirabel, inexplicably did not receive a gift.
On his fifth birthday, Pepa's youngest son, Antonio, is granted the ability to communicate with animals. During the celebration, the Madrigals unwittingly exclude Mirabel from being in a family photo. Mirabel sees Casita cracking and the candle's flame flickering and alerts her family, but Casita repairs itself, causing disbelief in Mirabel. After overhearing Alma lament the candle's fading that night, Mirabel resolves to restore Casita's magic herself. Her older sister Luisa, who possesses superhuman strength, confesses to Mirabel that she feels overwhelmed by her constant obligation to help the villagers using her strength, which has been faltering. She suggests to Mirabel that Bruno's room, located inside a forbidden tower in Casita, may hold the secret to the fading magic.
Mirabel finds a cave in Bruno's room that holds pieces of his last vision made of opaque emerald. Alma and the family warn Mirabel not to investigate further, but she reassembles the pieces and sees herself with Casita cracking behind her. Mirabel's father Agustín accidentally discovers Mirabel and warns her to keep the vision a secret, but they are overheard by Pepa's daughter Dolores, who possesses supernatural hearing. Mirabel's oldest sister Isabela, who can make plants and flowers instantly grow at will, is scheduled to be engaged to the Madrigals' neighbor Mariano Guzmán. Amidst Mariano's proposal, an awkward dinner, and Dolores telling everyone about Mirabel's discovery, Casita begins to crack again, and everyone loses control of their gifts.
Mirabel follows rats carrying the pieces of the vision to a secret passage behind a portrait, where she finds Bruno, who reveals he never left Casita, and his visions alternate between Mirabel saving Casita and destroying it, leading him to believe she is the key to the fate of Casita's magic. Not wanting Mirabel to be hurt, he destroyed the vision and isolated himself. At Mirabel's insistence, Bruno conjures another vision that depicts Mirabel and Isabela, who have a strained relationship, hugging, which strengthens the candle.
Mirabel attempts to apologize to a frustrated Isabela, who confesses she is burdened by her image of perfection and does not want to marry Mariano. Mirabel helps Isabela use her powers more freely and they hug. Alma arrives and angrily blames Mirabel for causing the family's misfortunes out of spite for not having a gift. Mirabel gets into an argument with Alma's behavior and asserts that her harmful expectations for her family are the true cause of Casita dying, which horrifies Alma. In the ensuing argument, Casita is destroyed by the cracks as Mirabel tries to save the candle, which extinguishes in her hands, leaving the Madrigals powerless. Distraught and heartbroken, Mirabel runs away from home.
The next day, Alma finds Mirabel tearfully sitting beside the river where Pedro was killed by the soldiers and where the miracle had begun. Alma realizes that her obsession with preserving the magic made her oblivious to how her expectations and pressure were harming the family. She expresses remorse, reconciles with Mirabel, and reunites with Bruno. The three return to the village and assemble the other Madrigals to rebuild Casita, and the townspeople join in, restoring the family's gifts and reviving Casita. The Madrigals celebrate and take another family photo, this time including Mirabel and Bruno.
