Cory and Shawn face academic trouble in Mr. Turner's English class after failing an assignment. Turner, wanting them to succeed, allows them a weekend extension to drop off their makeup book reports at his apartment. While visiting his residence, the duo accidentally stumbles upon Turner's open lesson plans and discovers the exact date and topic of an unannounced, forthcoming test. Seizing the opportunity, they memorize the material and study furiously, leading to them achieving perfect grades on the evaluation. However, their academic triumph quickly morphs into intense guilt, as Cory struggles with the moral implications of what he perceives to be cheating. Meanwhile, school bully Harley Keiner is abruptly sent off to a reform school. Because Frankie and Joey are natural born "lackeys," they immediately begin searching for a new authority figure to serve. They attempt to recruit Eric as their new leader, relentlessly following him around and mimicking his mannerisms. Even after Eric firmly rejects them, the pair remains determined to win his guidance. Their focus shifts when they encounter a suave, slick-talking new trouble student named Griff Hawkins. Frankie and Joey are instantly impressed by Griff's escalating popularity and immediate success with female classmates. When Griff gets into a tense confrontation with a hostile varsity football player, Frankie and Joey step in to defend him. Their physical intimidation successfully protects Griff, prompting him to officially accept them as his new subordinates Guest stars: Blake Soper as Joey, Ethan Suplee as Frankie, Adam Scott as Griff Hawkins, Susan Knight as Miss Gill, Laurie Fortier as Jasmine, Eric Balfour as Tommy Absent: Danielle Fishel as Topanga Lawrence
