Buffy must win the confidence of Potential Slayers and kill the Turok-Han. Vox, ranking it at #76 of all 144 episodes on their "Worst to Best" list, writes, "'Showtime' features one of Buffy's strongest inspirational speeches, delivered mid- Thunderdome -style beatdown on a Turok-Han. It's a solid action set piece that goes a long way toward relieving the monotony of mid-season seven, and Buffy's telepathic conversation with Willow and Xander helps recenter the show's focus on their friendship in the middle of a season of growing distance."
