Plot summary

Season 1

1. Pilot

Nikita is a former assassin and spy who worked for Division, a secret U.S. agency, until 2007, when she went underground after they killed Daniel Monroe, her civilian fiancé. Three years later, she resurfaces with the mission to bring down Division by disrupting its operations one at a time. Meanwhile, Alex is arrested for armed robbery; Division recruits her by faking her death and entering her into training to become an assassin. Meanwhile, Nikita is in contact with a source within Division and learns about "Black Arrow", an operation to assassinate an African diplomat. Nikita rescues the diplomat and drops him off at the United Nations. Later, she confronts her former boss, Percy to declare war on Division. Agent Michael, the Division operative who trained Nikita, chases after her, but she wounds him and escapes. Percy tasks Division with finding Nikita, and Alex is revealed to be Nikita's source.

2. 2.0

Division is tasked with protecting Serbian leader Mirko Dadich, who was exiled from his country for war crimes, in exchange for uranium in Dadich's possession. Alex is activated for an operation earlier than expected; the assignment is to entertain the leader during his stay in America. As Nikita attempts to take out Dadich, he is kidnapped by a group of mercenaries led by the daughter of the lead scientist responsible for Dadich's nuclear program. Both Nikita and Division trace their location to a New York Subway station; it is a race to get the GPS device to locate the uranium.

During the firefight between Division and the mercenaries, Nikita steals the GPS device and destroys it. As Dadich is no longer useful, Michael kills him. A flashback from a year ago shows Nikita meeting Alex after saving her life from drug dealers, and then helping Alex through detox before training her. In the flashback, Nikita reveals that she has been searching for Alex for over 2 years, and knows who she really is.

3. Kill Jill

To prevent journalist Jill Morelli from attempting to expose a plane crash that was organized by Division, agents frame her for her editor's murder. Nikita rescues Jill, and they work together to expose the story. They contact Jill's source, who has a video in which Division agents can be seen at the site of the crash, covering up the evidence and obtaining cocaine smuggled by the airline's corrupt CEO. Michael, with tracking assistance from Alex and fellow recruits Jaden and Thom, finds the house where Nikita, Jill, and Jill's source are meeting.

Michael leads a Division team there and kills Jill's source. Alex secretly alerts police to the area, who arrest Jill while Nikita fights the Division agents. Jill manages to expose the story and clear her name. Meanwhile, Michael and Percy suspect Birkhoff is leaking information to Nikita from inside Division (unaware that the real mole is Alex). After Birkhoff is interrogated by Amanda, they discover a tracker hidden in one of his teeth; Nikita tells Alex that they will need to find another way to cover her tracks. Thom brings Alex a CD player as a reward for her tracking assistance on the operation.

4. Rough Trade

Nikita revisits her first assignment with Division: the assassination of Victor Han, a Homeland Security official who had a wife and baby. Nikita discovers a fashion store that uses a triad gang to employ slave labour. Nikita storms a sweatshop, destroys it, and after following the gang leader, realizes that the man behind the organization is the very same official she thought she had killed on her first assignment. It turns out he faked his death after making a deal with Percy. Nikita travels to Hong Kong, catches Victor, and drops him off outside a police station. Meanwhile, Alex suffers from claustrophobia from a traumatic childhood experience, and Amanda is determined to learn about Alex's past and cure her.

5. The Guardian

Owen Elliot, an off-the-books Division agent, and guardian to a "black box"—information containing Division's past crimes—narrowly escapes a bank robbery in Montreal, and contacts Percy. Realizing that Division's security is in jeopardy, Percy intends to kill Owen and collect the black box. Nikita meets Owen's girlfriend, Emily, who leads her to finding Owen. However, Emily is killed by Division snipers, and Owen is captured while attempting to avenge her death. Nikita later finds Owen again in a freighter and talks him out of killing Percy. The two escape, but Owen is wounded by Percy.

Nikita takes Owen as an ally, and treats his gunshot wound while he is unconscious. Meanwhile, Michael, suspicious of Percy's motives, investigates Owen. Alex sneaks into Percy's office to give information on Owen to Nikita. Thom catches Alex, but she creates a convincing cover story. Alex later thanks Thom for covering for her, and he kisses her, though she pulls away.

6. Resistance

En route to a training exercise, a bus filled with Division recruits, including Alex and Thom, is attacked by terrorists and the recruits are kidnapped. Unknown to them, the attack, and subsequent kidnap and torture they endure is a test orchestrated by Division. Percy, Michael and Amanda watch as Alex is tortured, but Alex, defying all anticipation, manages to escape and she contacts Nikita for help, but before she can get to Alex, Michael arrives to reveal the test and bring her back to Division. Meanwhile, as Owen begins to trust Nikita in her hideout, he reveals that he was the "cleaner" who killed Daniel Monroe. Owen later escapes, insisting on fighting Division on his own, and recovers the black box he had hidden in the previous episode. There are also flashbacks of Nikita helping Alex, and trying to gain her trust.

7. The Recruit

Alex alerts Nikita that Division has activated a low-level recruit named Sara, who is sent out in the field to stop an eco-terrorist group; Nikita realizes Division is using Sara for a suicide mission, and is unknowingly implanted with a bomb. Nikita manages to sabotage the operation and convince Sara that Division wants her dead; she plans a new identity for Sara. Meanwhile, another recruit Robbie "graduates" to a guard rather than a field agent that he was hoping for. When Michael and a team find Nikita and Sara, they are forced to be recalled and allow the two to escape after Robbie goes on a rampage in Division for being denied to become an agent. Alex stops him, and though he is later declared dead, it is revealed that Division is keeping him alive to become a cleaner.

8. Phoenix

Nikita fails to stop Thom from assassinating Anna Harcourt, the intern and mistress of a U.S. Senator. Thom later graduates to an agent. Nikita later realizes the killing may have been justified after she is captured by a couple masquerading as her parents. They and Harcourt are agents for Gogol, an organization apparently more dangerous than Division. Nikita awakens to find herself infected with a toxin that would liquify her stomach within 12 hours, and she would only be cured if she assassinates the Senator. Fortunately Alex steals the antidote and plants it on Thom; Nikita knocks him out while protecting the Senator, and takes the antidote. The leader of Gogol, Ari Tasarov, later asks Nikita to join them and stop Division together, but she refuses.

9. One Way

Michael is sent on an unofficial mission to Tashkent, Uzbekistan to kill Kasim Tariq, the terrorist responsible for killing his family. Nikita arrives to assist Michael in the revenge mission. When Percy learns of this, he botches the operation by sending a team of agents, which leads to Kasim kidnapping Michael. Nikita eventually finds him, but Kasim has disappeared. He learns Kasim is going to board a flight to Yemen, but when he tries to fulfill his revenge, Nikita, knowing Michael will die in the process and wants to save him, alerts the airport authorities to apprehend him. Meanwhile, Alex nearly blows her cover when she is caught snooping through medical files to obtain Michael's transmitter frequency. Alex blackmails Jaden into helping her. In the end, Michael returns to Division, and tells Percy he should have never trusted Nikita in the first place.

10. Dark Matter

Owen asks Nikita for help; using information from a black box, he leaked to the press that Division set up an assassination of Chilean presidential candidate Andre Quintano, in an attempt to find the other black boxes, but at the same time to save CIA analyst Ryan Fletcher, who has been framed and captured by angered mercenaries. The duo travel to Chile and rescue him moments before he is to be executed. However, they soon find themselves surrounded by Michael's team. While running away from them, the three are arrested by the United States Army.

On the way back to the States, Nikita and Owen tell Fletcher about Division, and give him a memory stick before Fletcher arranges the two's escape. Meanwhile, Jaden has decided to focus on spying on Alex. Percy asks Birkhoff to team up with Division's head engineer so the black boxes can be activated through wi-fi. The engineer is then killed by Percy, which Alex witnesses by spying through the air vent. What she does find is the location of another box: London, England. Nikita later destroys Owen's black box and vows to do the same to the others.

11. All the Way

Alex is nervous upon learning she will be tasked to assassinate the leader of a crime syndicate named Zoman, so she can graduate to a field agent. Nikita decides to help her, but Alex insists she can do the kill herself. Birkhoff discovers the shell program used by Nikita to make contact with her operative inside. During the operation, Alex cannot bring herself to kill Zoman, Nikita intervenes while Thom kills Zoman. Realising Alex may die because of her failure, Nikita allows Alex to capture her so they can both escape afterwards.

While Amanda interrogates Nikita, trying to make her reveal the identity of the mole and the location of the black box she has in her possession (which was destroyed at the end of the previous episode), Alex plants explosives as a diversion. However, Thom discovers she is the mole. After the explosives detonate, Alex fights with Thom and accidentally kills him. Nikita tries to take Alex, but she stays behind and frames Thom as the mole. After all potential escape routes are closed off following Nikita's escape, Percy promotes Alex to field agent.

12. Free

Following her promotion Alex is moved into an apartment with a cover job and identity, and is granted more freedom. Over the course of the episode she finds herself bonding to neighbor Nathan Colville. After meeting with Alex, Nikita realizes Division placed a kill chip inside her head. Nikita appoints Ryan for help by capturing Birkhoff in order to hack into his laptop. However, the encryption is nearly impossible to hack into. The two trick Birkhoff into hacking into a Blu-ray player, allowing them to know his password so Nikita can clone Alex's tracking signal. She narrowly succeeds as Michael enters to return Birkhoff. As a result Ryan is demoted, though Nikita promises that she will make up for it. To make it seem as if Nikita did something to Birkhoff's laptop, Alex posts a propaganda video recorded by Nikita to everyone at Division.

13. Coup De Grace

Alex warns Nikita that she is to be part of a team to assassinate Prince of Georgia Erik Mukhran at a museum gala. Nikita arrives at the gala beforehand to evacuate him, but is betrayed by Mukhran's wife, Princess Kristina Gruzinsky, who contacted Division to kill her husband. Nikita escapes and saves the Prince as Alex's team arrive. Mukhran reveals that he suspects his wife of planning to kill him, as he is trying to give up the throne after falling in love with another woman, Leela. When Kristina learns of this, Division holds her hostage unless Mukhran turns himself in. Thanks to Alex's quick thinking, Leela escapes with Mukhran, as does Nikita. Michael's team, disguised as FBI agents, storms the gala to "arrest" the gunmen. Afterwards, Michael becomes suspicious of Alex possibly working with Nikita after reviewing security footage of the event.

14. The Next Seduction

Nikita goes to Quebec to pose as Josephine, a cover of hers during Division to reunite with Emil Voss, a man Division forced her to have a relationship with. She is running on a tip from Ryan, who was ignored by his superiors, that Voss is going to sell a dirty bomb. However, it is revealed Voss is trying to defect but Gogol are trying to stop him and obtain the weapon. Nikita and Voss successfully evade Gogol in smuggling the bomb to the States, but Nikita later learns that Division has set up the operation to take out Nikita and Ryan and get the bomb themselves; Voss is also killed.

When Division is about to take off with the bomb, Gogol agents arrive, though Nikita outsmarts both parties and has Ryan deliver the bomb to the CIA, which results in a promotion to be allowed more access. Meanwhile, Michael interferes with Alex's growing feelings with Nathan, but by the end of the episode she and Nathan start kissing.

15. Alexandra

Alex runs into an old friend from her past, Irina. When she tries to help her, Alex is kidnapped by Vlad, the sex trafficker who captured Alex after her father's death. Vlad attempts to force Alex (which includes tempting her back to drugs) into confessing she is the daughter of Nikolai Udinov, a Russian billionaire who was killed by Division. Meanwhile, Michael reluctantly works with Nikita to save Alex, while at the same time Nikita does not expose her secret. The two find the warehouse where Vlad is holding a number of sex slaves. During the attack, Irina helps Alex escape; Alex later confesses to Vlad she is in fact Udinov's daughter and "rewards" him by killing him. Michael later returns Alex to Division to begin her withdrawal, however Amanda uses the opportunity to ask her a few questions about her past.

16. Echoes

Amanda places Alex in a drug-induced hallucination to learn more about her past. Nikita believes Alex is in danger and organizes to smuggle her out of the country. In the hallucination, Alex tries to break out of Division with her younger self, while at the same time running away from an unknown female enemy. It is eventually revealed that Alex was running away from herself in a possible future where she takes control of her father's empire. Before she could reveal that to Amanda, Michael puts a halt to the test, claiming she was revisiting the time she killed Thom. Despite this Amanda recommends to Percy that he "cancel" her. Meanwhile, Michael, with Birkhoff's help, learns that Nikita is taking residence in an abandoned mansion that used to belong to a business Nikita assassinated while working in Division. He later visits her and aims a shotgun at her.

17. Covenant

Michael threatens to expose Alex's cover to Percy if Nikita does not help him find Kasim Tariq within 24 hours. She is forced to work with Gogol in St. Petersburg, Russia to lure him out by destroying a heroin shipment in Chechnya. She captures Kasim and betrays Gogol again. She and Michael agree to meet at the house the two spent time undercover five years ago. After Michael kills Kasim's back-up, Kasim reveals that he used to work with Division, and before defecting to Al Qaeda, was ordered to kill Michael, by Percy. After Kasim is killed, Michael decides to defect to Nikita's side in secret and together plan to find the black boxes, then kill Percy. The episode finishes with the two kissing passionately.

18. Into the Dark

Nikita and Owen go to London to retrieve one of Division's black boxes and its guardian. Nikita learns that Owen is taking medication that Division discontinued years ago because of its psychological effects to the guardians. Nikita notices Owen is become increasingly obsessed with finding the black box and release its contents to the public, Nikita disagrees and he turns on her. Percy orders Michael to send a team to track and kill the two. Owen leads the team and the guardian to the church where he kills the opponents before Michael and Nikita arrive to destroy the black box and knock Owen out.

When he awakens, he decides to stop taking his medication and apologises for killing Daniel. Meanwhile, Amanda overhears Jaden arguing with Alex about the escape tunnels so she hooks Alex up to a lie detector to get the truth out of her once and for all. At first caught on a lie, Alex manages to fool the machine by telling Amanda she was covering for Thom. However, Amanda still has trouble believing her, leading Nikita to hasten Alex's escape plan.

19. Girl's Best Friend

Alex and Jaden are selected to take part on a mission to Geneva, Switzerland to stop Kalume Ungara, the playboy son of a foreign president from selling a newly developed nerve toxin to a potential terrorist group. Alex, Michael and Nikita agree to fake her death during the mission to ensure her escape from Division. During the mission, Alex overhears Ungara talk with a customer who intends to use the toxin, which is in resin form and disguised as diamonds, against a developing nations summit; Nikita tasks herself with stopping the attack while Alex attempts to destroy the lab. However, Jaden is exposed and taken to the lab, prompting Alex to break up her plan of faking her death and save Jaden, before destroying the lab. After they return to Division, Jaden hands over the nerve toxin to Percy, who promotes her to an agent.

20. Glass Houses

Frustrated that Nikita continues to intercept his black boxes, Percy sends Michael to check on one of the boxes and the guardian attached to it named Dana Winters (Christina Moses) in a Pennsylvania town. Nikita arrives to find Dana living with a fiance and his son. Michael is forced to report this to Percy, who sends a team to intercept. Nikita gets to the black box but finds herself surrounded by Michael's team. When Dana sees the agents threaten her stepson to be, she kills the Division agents for his safety, and she escapes with her family.

Alex reveals to Nathan who she is so they can run away together, but he does not believe her, when Jaden realizes she told him, Jaden attempts to call it in, but Alex fights her, and Nathan shoots Jaden to death. When she reports the shooting to Division, Amanda reveals she planted a listening chip on her ear, hearing a conversation between Alex and Nikita. Amanda pins her down and admits she knows Alex's past.

21. Betrayals

After Michael learns that Percy has ordered Division to kill anyone who could decrypt the black boxes, he sends Nikita in to save the last person on the list: a CIA cryptographer named Malcolm Mitchell. Nikita saves Malcolm from Division assassins and takes him to Ryan for protection. Meanwhile, Percy learns Alex is the mole. Later, Percy shows Alex visual and audio evidence that it was Nikita who killed her father. Nikita asks Michael to check on her; when Percy orders him to kill Alex, Michael turns the gun on him, but is stunned when he tries to fire it.

Percy reveals that he is several steps ahead of them, even allowing Nikita to have the small victories to ambush her in the end. Percy allows the release of Alex to apprehend Nikita, but under monitoring in case she deviates from the plan. When Alex meets Nikita, Alex asks her if she killed her dad. When Nikita does not answer the question, Alex shoots her.

22. Pandora

Alex doses Nikita with a toxin that feigns death. While talking to members of Oversight, Percy reveals his plan to take over the CIA by letting Malcolm and Fletcher hack into the black box, which would unleash a nerve toxin, killing them and the CIA's director; later, Division will blame the attack on Nikita. Nikita however, awakens and injures cleaner Roan by throwing acid to his face. At Langley, she saves the CIA director, Malcolm and Fletcher. After she is taken into custody, Fletcher helps her escape. Meanwhile, Alex is brought back to Amanda, who kills her with the kill chip.

She then revives her and lets her go free, but warns her not to return to Nikita. Birkhoff releases Michael and they decrypt a black box, before Michael escapes. Nikita returns to her loft to destroy it, but Alex returns just to get her new identity ready. The loft is destroyed when Division agents storm it. Michael is reluctant to trust Owen again, but the three join forces. They learn of another attempt on Irving's life by a woman named Alicia, they subdue her and send her to Birkhoff's home.

There, they learn she was a former drug addict, having been treated by Mars, who goes by an alias. They break into his office, finding several other test subjects. After Mars is captured, he sets out a signal, reactivating Alicia who returns to kill the real target, a member in Irving's administration; Michael and Nikita subdue her again. Amanda convinces Alex to kill Anton Kochenko, a man who used to work for Alex's father and is now with Semak.

However, she is told to hold off killing him when Nikita captures Ramon before he can upload the video of Kochenko's assassination. Division agents trap Michael in a safe room. Amanda reveals to Nikita that if she does not kill Ramon, she will order the home to be destroyed. Nikita however, convinces Ramon to help Michael escape before the house is destroyed. Although Amanda orders Alex to stand down, she shoots Kochenko anyway.

It is revealed that Percy knows about the father and has Amanda send a strike team to Richard's home; he, Michael and Nikita escape to Birkhoff's home. However, it is revealed that Richard is not Nikita's father; he is a Division plant assigned to take back the black box. Realising the deception, Nikita captures Richard, however Birkhoff's home is later attacked by Roan's team, though Birkhoff fends them off by launching his attack drone. Nikita then kills Richard, and later admits to Michael that he is Max's father, and she killed Richard because she told him that also, and knew that Richard would use this information against him.

Sean is revealed to be Madeline's son. Meanwhile, Sean and Alex stop Yuri Levrov, a childhood friend of hers who is now working for Semak and has been ordered to kill her. Later, it is revealed Amanda faked Fletcher's death to help her take down Oversight.

Michael goes to London, England to visit Cassandra's son Max. There, he learns that they are targeted by General Tupelov (Paulino Nunes), who feels that Cassandra is responsible for him not getting power after Ovechkin's death. As Nikita arrives to assist, Tupelov abducts Cassandra and reveals to Michael she took $200 million of his money and wants it back. Birkhoff tracks Cassandra to Canvey Island. However as Michael and Nikita rescue her, Cassandra reveals that she is an MI6 agent. Later, Michael is captured by Cassandra's handlers, and after Nikita rescues him, they realise that her contact wants to get his hands on the money; Nikita kills him before he could kill Cassandra. Meanwhile, Percy gives Alex information to get money from one of his off-shore accounts, with enough money to get revenge on Semak without Division's assistance. However, the transfer also relays a secret activation order to a guardian.

9. Fair Trade

With Michael away in London, Nikita steals $80 million from Oversight, forcing the committee to meet in a bunker under a hotel, so that she can identify them. However, Division is made aware of Nikita's presence during the meeting, and Birkhoff is captured while he attempts to escape and is brought back to Division, where Amanda tortures him for Nikita's location. Michael suggests Nikita make a trade between Birkhoff for the black box. Nikita requests that Sean escort Birkhoff, after realizing he is Madeline's son. However, during the exchange, Sean destroys the black box, and Nikita and Birkhoff escape by helicopter.

Owen is using them to find and destroy the black boxes, however Tasarov desires to release the information against the Americans. Meanwhile, Miller is off to see a regimen scientist in Basel, Switzerland. There, Nikita stops Miller and recovers the black box. However, a firefight between her, Miller and Gogol alert the local police, who arrest Nikita and Miller. After discovering Owen's connection to Nikita, Tasarov captures him.

Gogol intercept the police convoy and steal the black box. Before they can kill Nikita, Michael, having been called from London by Owen to save her. However, Percy says that he sent Alex there so she could learn something; Alex breaks into her childhood home to see that her mother Katya is still alive.

11. Pale Fire

Nikita follows Tasarov to the Udinov estate to take back the black box, only to encounter Alex. They decide to work together to help Katya escape. However in the process, Alex is captured by Semak. As Nikita comes to rescue both Alex and Katya, she learns that it was Katya who alerted Semak of Alex's presence, as he made her believe Alex was turned by Division. It is also revealed that Katya survived because she and Semak had an affair. After failing to retrieve Katya, Nikita and Alex escape the estate.

Meanwhile, Amanda places Ryan in Percy's cell, so the two of them can figure out how to take down Oversight, which is also Amanda's goal. Michael and Owen follow the guardians to Amsterdam. After killing one of them, they are made aware of their meeting place. Michael infiltrates the meeting by posing as the dead guardian, after which he uses the opportunity to destroy the black boxes before escaping with Owen. Later, they deduce that Percy is using the guardians to break him out of holding.

12. Sanctuary

Alex and Nikita decide to work together again. Sean, in a bid to protect his mother from Nikita, tracks her down through the tracker he placed in Alex's father's watch, but is captured. Knowing he is acting alone, they convince him to join their cause to defeat Percy. Birkhoff finds that Amanda placed a bug on Sean's phone to keep an eye on him. Oversight convene and realize that Division run by Amanda is no better than Percy's management, and decides to enact "Clean Sweep", a fail safe Percy set up when he formed Division, which will release VX nerve gas, which would kill everybody in Division.

Amanda learns of Percy's attempt to escape, and has placed Division on high alert for anything out of the ordinary. Realizing that the information in the black boxes will be released if Percy dies, Amanda decides to place him in an induced coma. Before the procedure starts, the guardians hold the Oversight members captive, and demand that Amanda release Percy or they will enact Clean Sweep.

13. Clean Sweep

Amanda believes there is a saboteur in Division when she finds that the safe to deactivate Clean Sweep from inside the base is rigged with explosives in case it was tampered with, and Roan is her prime suspect. To avoid detection, Roan removes his tracker, and kills those who attempt to disarm the bomb. Alex, under Birkhoff's instructions, returns to Division in order to activate the emergency generator that used to run the missile silo that Division situates. In the meantime, Amanda decides to release Percy. Percy would later kill his escorts and arrive at the house where the guardians are holding Oversight.

Michael, Nikita and Sean, who already arrived there, catch Percy. Nikita threatens to kill Percy unless the guardians release Oversight. However, Percy orders them to kill all Oversight members apart from Madeline. Later, they are ambushed by a Gogol strike team. As Nikita rescues Madeline, Percy initiates Clean Sweep, though Alex successfully overrides it. She later locks herself in Percy's cell to avoid Roan's reprisal. Percy then escapes with Miller. After calling Amanda, Madeline realises that she is losing control of her. It is further revealed that Amanda is working with Gogol.

14. Rogue

Amanda is now in full control of Division. She offers Alex a chance to reclaim Zetrov and reveal her true identity to the world, in order to weaken Semak and rescue Katya. Percy draws Nikita out by targeting Carla Bennett, a mentor who took her off the streets when she was a junkie before her arrest for murdering a police officer. Michael and Nikita find her through Madeline. However as they meet it is discovered that Amanda is also after her, having placed her on top of her kill list, even above Percy.

As Percy intercepts Carla, she agrees to come with him on the condition that he lets Nikita live. Alex uses a Division satellite to track Percy's chip. Michael and Nikita rescue Carla as Division agents storm the hideout. However Percy escapes and jams his chip. Back at the safehouse Carla reveals that she was the one who created Division.

15. Origins

Nikita and Michael try to help Carla remember events from her past, which may hold the key to defeating Division. Carla tells the story that how Percy planned to make Division grow and introduces Amanda to her. Later, Amanda frames Carla, using false evidence that she is going to expose Division to Congress and Percy sanctions a hit on Carla. But Brian, the hitman, was trained by Carla and gives her a chance to escape. Later, Amanda finds out that Carla is alive and kills Brian. Meanwhile, Alex appears at a Zetrov press conference where Sergei Semak is speaking and announces that she is Alexandra Udinov, then proposes a trade; her mother for the Zetrov empire.

Semak decides to kill her instead. Ari records his conversion with Semak and sends a killer to Alex's suite to kill her but she survives and escapes. Later Alex appears at the press conference and declares that she will be taking over Zetrov. Carla calls Percy and offers her help to restore Division to what it was; a program to create heroes. She tells him that Ari and Amanda are working together.

16. Doublecross

Division agents are being killed. Michael realizes they were agents he ran to work against Gogol. It is revealed that Percy is responsible for the killings and blaming Gogol for them. Amanda asks Nikita for help in capturing Percy, and she will release Fletcher in exchange, though Amanda intends to have them killed afterwards. Nikita captures Percy in Manhattan through tracking another dead agent. Carla contacts Miller and Roan about the exchange. During the exchange, Birkhoff reveals to Carla that they know she is working with Percy, and kills her when she refuses to surrender.

Miller dies, but Percy and Roan escape. Meanwhile, Alex returns home in Russia with Sean as her bodyguard. They work to rescue Katya, only to find that Semak took her beforehand. Tasarov believes they should move up their plan to eliminate Semak. Sean copies the files on his laptop, and learns that Cassandra is working in MI6 as a Gogol mole.

17. Arising

Alex learns from Semak that Katya had actually run away. Upon realising Cassandra is a Gogol mole within MI6, used to assassinate Semak, Michael and Nikita confront her during a mission in Moscow. There, they realise that Tasarov intends to frame her team for Semak's death. When Michael and Nikita foil the plan, Tasarov is forced to kill Semak himself. He then sends a Gogol strike team to kill the MI6 team, but Michael dispatches them, allowing the team to escape back to England. However, by then Tasarov leaks Cassandra's Gogol profile to MI6.

Michael, Nikita and Cassandra evade the latter's team, rescue Max and fake their deaths by destroying their plane. Meanwhile back in Russia, Alex and Sean discover that Katya is in a woodland cabin, under guard by Division agents. Amanda and Tasarov offer them a deal; their lives in exchange for the control shares of Zetrov. Alex however, refuses. After escaping from the agents, Alex says goodbye to her mother as she vows to fight with Nikita.

18. Power

Nikita and friends learn that Amanda and Tasarov have stolen a Helium-3 replicator prototype, a device that can produce a new energy source, in their bid to take over Zetrov. During their first failed attempt to intercept the replicator, Amanda wounds Nikita, but could not bring herself to kill her before escaping. Michael and Nikita follow Amanda to Zetrov's headquarters in Moscow in another attempt to retrieve the replicator. In the meantime Amanda leaves Sonya in charge (Lyndie Greenwood). Working with an inside man, Percy allows himself to be captured, and through an unwitting Birkhoff, convinces Division that Amanda is working with Gogol, and hence takes back control of Division.

Nikita takes the replicator, but is forced to seal herself in a containment vault when she is surrounded. Amanda drains the oxygen from the vault, but Nikita plays dead and escapes, but letting Amanda live. Zetrov fires Tasarov and appoints Alex their new chief executive officer, a position she passes on to friend Ilya Levkin. Without support, Amanda and Tasarov are on the run, but with a black box.

19. Wrath

Percy releases Nicholas Brandt, an arms dealer and old foe of Nikita's, from a CIA detention facility in Norway; Brandt will hand over the plutonium Division failed to acquire before, if they give him Nikita. Brandt's methods are however unorthodox even by Division's standards; he begins by killing Madeline Pierce in a car bomb. Knowing Sean is his next target, Nikita and the others watch over Madeline's funeral. Brandt however captures Nikita and tortures her in an abandoned house. Percy learns that Brandt wants something else in the deal; Michael. After Michael drinks a sedative, Brandt relinquishes his plutonium, and send Michael to the house. However, Alex, Sean and Birkhoff find their location thanks to Michael's tracker, and kill Brandt. The ordeal brings Michael and Nikita closer together following their strains earlier in the season.

20. Shadow Walker

Nikita convinces Birkhoff to use $20 million of his own money to meet with Ian Damascus, who has Percy's funds. However, Damascus uses the money to hand over to Percy. Angered that his money is gone, Birkhoff splits off from the group to get more by hacking into an old network, inadvertently trips a trap set by the FBI, which gets him arrested. Division is alerted of his arrest and Percy sends in a team to retrieve him, however Nikita gets to him first. While the two battle Division agents in the precinct, Michael and Alex realise Percy put the money in one of three trucks he sent, and after a guess, Michael and Alex follow the wrong one.

However, Birkhoff deduces which truck holds the money. Because there is no time to recover the money before Division agents arrive, the team agree to destroy the truck. Percy starts searching for new funds, while Alex partly reimburses Birkhoff with some of her Udinov fortune.

21. Dead Drop

Nikita and Michael travel to Germany to buy a set of nuclear triggers before Percy can get his hands on them, however, a Division team intercepts them. To stop Percy from completing his plan to build a nuclear bomb, Ryan Fletcher turns to Morgan Kendrick, the new director of the CIA. However, during a meeting a suspicious Nikita bugs Kendrick, and the team realize he is working with Percy. As Kendrick organizes another meeting with Fletcher, he realizes he is working with Percy under duress; there is a kill chip inside his pacemaker. Michael and Nikita send Kendrick underground, where the kill chip cannot be activated, and deactivate it, though in the process Sonya discovers Birkhoff's safe house; Alex rigs the house to explode when a strike team arrives, and they move to Fletcher's safe house. Sean and Alex share their first kiss.

22. Crossbow

Robbie returns and steals three 20-year-old motherboards relevant to Project Crossbow, a missile defense satellite, from an Air Force base. Nikita and her entourage find the only remaining member of Crossbow, Donald Henderson. However, he dies after Nikita and Michael stop a Division strike team. Birkhoff later realizes that Crossbow is a satellite that can fire a particle beam. Sean and Alex find Robbie at a nuclear reactor and capture him. However, he escapes and activates a device before Sean kills him. They believe that the device sends the satellite to fire the weapon at the facility and escape before it explodes.

Percy uses the weapon as leverage to blackmail President Charles Grayson into backing out of a peace treaty between Afghanistan and the Taliban. Nikita decides to return to Division. While Sean and Alex subdue the sentries (they must be kept alive, otherwise Division is alerted of a breach), Nikita and Michael enter Division through the hatch Nikita previously escaped through. One of the sentries kills the other, alerting Division of Nikita's presence, just as she destroys the servers controlling Crossbow.

23. Homecoming

The president sends Marines to prepare a strike against Division. Percy reveals to Grayson that Crossbow is a bluff; it never worked, he is instead using his triggers to destroy nuclear reactors. He is willing to stand down so long as he has immunity from prosecution. Realizing that Roan has the second trigger, Sean and Alex evade the Marines to find him. After Michael takes operations, Nikita finds Percy in his office; if he dies, Roan will be alerted and detonate the trigger. Nikita forces Percy to admit to Division that he criminalized it, but goads Division agents to kill him.

Nikita must escape Division with Percy alive. He then tries to drop Nikita down the hatch she entered earlier, but she gets the upper hand, and he falls to his death. Before Roan can activate the trigger underneath Washington, D.C., Alex and Sean intervene, resulting in Roan's electrocution. To prevent more bloodshed, Nikita convinces the Vice President to let her back into Division and get the officers to surrender, which succeeds. Fletcher later arrives; he will run Division to clean up its own mess and locate Percy's financer (David S. Lee), and Amanda, who has the remaining black box.

Season 3

1. 3.0

Division, now under the leadership of Ryan Fletcher, is tasked by the government to track down rogue agents, nicknamed the "Dirty Thirty", who refused the recall order following Percy's death. Their first target is Martin, who is using his services to eliminate undercover CIA operatives in Hong Kong for the Ministry of State Security (MSS). Michael and Nikita are sent there to bring him in. They find that Martin is having an affair with a model during his cover as a photographer. When Martin notices the couple nearby, he kills her and warns local police, where Michael is later arrested for her murder.

Alex arrives to assist Nikita while Sean Pierce works to release Michael from custody. However, after Nikita saves Martin's next target, Martin has the MSS retrieve Michael, while also revealing to Nikita that Amanda made contact with him, tricking him and other rogue agents after the recall order that they would die once they turn themselves in. As Michael is being transferred, Martin aims a sniper rifle at him, only to be shot dead by Alex. After the mission, Michael proposes to Nikita.

2. Innocence

Wade is Division's next target after he has stolen RDX. Wade used to train Division recruits before beating one to death for failing to kill a target, and was replaced by Michael. After finding his hideout they find a young girl, Liza Abbot, who Wade kidnapped and trained into a child soldier. Nikita tries to get to her, but Liza manages to escape Division when Wade attempts to attack it. It is later revealed Wade is going to complete the failed mission, to kill Saeed Tamir, who is now an ambassador of Pakistan. Nikita realizes that Liza kept an Indian girl necklace with her, so she has Alex take a similar necklace from Liza's mother. Nikita finds Liza and, using the necklaces, manages to get through to her, and she abandons the mission, while Michael finds and kills Wade. Alex and Nikita later reunite Liza to her parents.

3. True Believer

Ryan allows one of the rogue agents, Mia, to continue her undercover mission to infiltrate Third Wave, a domestic terrorist group who stand against the "tyranny" of the first world. After Mia is arrested from an FBI raid, Alex and Nikita break her out of prison. However, Mia turns on them and wounds Alex, revealing that she lost faith in Division and joined Third Wave's cause. Division later finds Third Wave's compound and raid it. Mia awaits and straps herself with a bomb to allow the leader, Joshua, to escape before overpowering Nikita.

Despite this Nikita still believes Mia can be saved. Birkhoff finds several foreign bank accounts affiliated with Joshua, and was paid to attack a United States senator. Nikita stops Mia, who reveals another terrorist is carrying the bomb. Nikita convinces her that Joshua is corrupt like Percy was and they work together to stop the would-be suicide bomber, but Mia is killed by Herek's guards in the process. Meanwhile, Michael and Sean take down Joshua and his private security guard partner.

4. Consequences

Amanda orders former Division cleaner Anne to break Owen out of a Russian prison regarding "Operation Skeleton Key", a cryptograph that allows users to hack into anything. Owen is the only remaining person to know its location. He escapes and later sends Michael and Nikita to recover Skeleton Key from a cemetery. The two are ambushed by Anne and ex-Gogol agents, who steal the cryptograph. One of the wounded mercenaries is brought back to Division, where doctors unwittingly unleash a vial of sarin from his lungs. Amanda later uses the cryptograph to release a video warning to destroy Division.

Sonya tracks Amanda to a hideout in Luxembourg with Ari Tasarov. A team is sent to retrieve the cryptograph, while Owen confronts Amanda to learn who he was before Division (Amanda erased his memories). Amanda admits to Ari that getting Owen was the mission the entire time. However, the mission is abandoned when Nikita finds Owen, allowing Amanda, Anne and Ari to escape. Meanwhile, Sean admits to Alex, who has secretly turned to drugs again, that he loves her, but does not wish to have a relationship if she remains in Division. Birkhoff realizes that Amanda has a mole inside Division.

5. The Sword's Edge

For six years, a rogue Division agent has gone undercover as Alexi Markov and is now the president of Uzbekistan. Division is able to capture him, but he reveals that should anything happen to him, his people would release a video to the media to expose Division. Ryan releases him after he reveals to Nikita that should Division be exposed, President Kathleen Spencer will order the termination of every agent. However, Birkhoff finds another video in Markov's harddrive revealing he will assassinate the President. The team decides to save the President's life in the White House without her knowing; Michael is able to pose as Markov while Nikita captures the real one, before Michael fakes his death, while Birkhoff uses a computer worm to erase Markov's videos. Meanwhile, Alex uncovers a murder plot against Owen. She learns that one of the agents, Carl wants him dead for killing his lover years before.

6. Sideswipe

Nikita and Michael capture arms dealer Cyrus, who was planning to purchase a weapon-jamming device called "Sideswipe" from an Egyptian general in St. Lucia. He offers to help get to his buyer, Ari Tasarov, but during the purchase, Cyrus apparently double crosses them and escapes. However, Nikita finds clues that the sale with Ari will happen in Romania. Cyrus is betrayed by Amanda, who captures him. Michael and Nikita track him to an abandoned church in Andalusia, Spain. They find him with a bomb strapped to him, while Amanda wants to help Nikita "learn".

Nikita realizes that Amanda wants her to suffer, not die, so she stands next to Cyrus, forcing Amanda to deactivate the bomb. Meanwhile, Cyrus was forced to admit to Amanda about Romania, so Ari has mercenaries attack Alex and her team, only to be defeated by Sean, who destroys Sideswipe. Ryan decides to reinstate Cyrus. Birkhoff learns that Sonya is the mole, and upon confronting her learns she is working under duress, having had a kill chip installed, and there is a second mole following her.

7. Intersection

After Birkhoff tells Nikita about Sonya's predicament, the team work to uncover the second mole watching Sonya. Michael learns of Alex's relapse to drugs, and urges her to tell Nikita and get clean. She is forced to admit to Nikita after the rest of the team see pictures of them together. They are being followed by the Watchman, a rogue agent who specializes in surveillance. The team lures the Watchman, where Nikita manages to follow and capture him, after Division traces his messages to Amanda to Quebec City. As Michael and Nikita wait to attack Amanda, Alex discovers the second mole is agent Baker and subdues him as Birkhoff deactivates Sonya's kill chip. Michael and Nikita chase Amanda and Anne, resulting in an accident where Michael's right hand is caught under the car. After Nikita kills Anne, she cuts off Michael's hand before their car explodes. Amanda escapes.

8. Aftermath

After three weeks, Michael is recovering from his injury and given a prosthetic hand, though he still has to get used to it, and is having trouble adapting with it for field work. Nikita and Owen team up to take down rogue Division cleaner Liam. Liam has branched out to drug cartel leader Guillermo Garza and is helping his men who are surrounded by Mexican police. Liam instead kills the men to get to the laptop, but has to escape without it and blows up the building once Nikita and Owen arrive. Division learns of the laptop, containing Garza's fortune, which is being held at a federal building in Houston, Texas. Liam turns on Garza to get the laptop for himself, but is killed by Owen before he can. Michael and Nikita's relationship becomes strained as he watches her work with Owen. Alex works to detox herself.

9. Survival Instincts

Division's next target is Ray after they find he is selling intelligence for weapons. After he kidnaps Kate Barrett, his ex-wife, Nikita and Owen pose as federal agents to help the local police, which includes Kate's new boyfriend. When they find that Ray is holding Kate somewhere in Allegheny National Forest, Sean arrives to help, though Alex is dismayed to learn she cannot return to the field yet. Ray learns Division is onto him and after exposing them to the police, Ray systematically kills Division agents. Nikita finds Ray's hideout, rescues Kate and kills Ray.

She also convinces Kate not to reveal Ray kidnapped her, to keep Division secret. Alex and Sean reconcile. Michael decides not to return to work field missions again, and begins to value Owen as Nikita's partner in the field. Birkhoff later approaches Nikita to tell her there might be a way for Michael to get his hand back.

10. Brave New World

Birkhoff tells Nikita about Heidecker, who helped develop kill chips and other technologies for Division. Recently, Heidecker pays monthly visits to Kosovo to check on Deputy Prime Minister Kosta Beciraj. Beciraj lost a leg following a failed assassination attempt by the CIA, but it had since been "regrown" with real flesh and blood over carbon-fiber bone. Nikita goes on a secret mission to retrieve Heidecker alone so he could bring "back" Michael's hand, until Alex and Michael discover this. After Nikita is captured by Kosovo Security Forces, Alex and Michael go after her.

After they rescue her, Alex assassinates Beciraj and blames it on a bodyguard. They escape with Heidecker, but after the team learns that Heidecker is using children as lab rats for his experiments, Nikita kills him when he turns on them. Spencer's advisor Evan Danforth is apparently impressed with Division's assassination of Beciraj and hands Ryan four files of secret assignments, much to Nikita's chagrin, as she does not want Division to return performing kill missions.

11. Black Badge

CIA analyst Naomi Ceaver comes across a file detailing Madeline Pierce’s involvement with Division and turns it over to the Director of the CIA, Morgan Kendrick. Division believes Amanda is targeting him. When Kendrick is killed in a car bomb, Amanda frames Sean for the assassination. Ryan convinces Sean to turn himself in so they can find the real man behind the murder. They find the man, Ellis Toyon, however Amanda had already killed and cleaned him. She also calls Nikita to tell her that she has insured that Sean will not be proven innocent.

In order to save Sean, Nikita and Alex decide to fake his death and recruit him to Division, in a similar fashion to how it used to get its recruits. Bringing him back to life proves to be a challenge when Ceaver reveals she is a Gogol spy working for Amanda, ordered to kill Sean. Alex saves Sean as Nikita dispatches Ceaver.

12. With Fire

Ari Tasarov turns himself into Division, revealing to having split off from Amanda after she incidentally got international authorities after him. He believes that Amanda has gone too far and is aiding a terrorist group, called the Crimson Resistance, to perform random terrorist attacks and blame them on Division. Ari is willing to help Division stop her in exchange for $50 million. Following a grande attack in Pittsburgh, and a drive-by shooting in Romeo, Michigan, believing Ari is stalling, Nikita resolves to torture the information out of him, until she realizes that Ari intends to use the money to help his son, Stefan, while Ari himself accepts whatever fate awaits him.

Ari eventually reveals that the terrorist Amanda is helping is Saalim Azar (Piter Marek). After Alex and Owen prevent the third attack, Amanda executes Saalim. Division is able to find Saalim's location and delete everything that Amanda used to frame Division for arming him. Amanda decides to go after Stefan.

13. Reunion

Amanda sends her mercenaries to capture Stefan from a private school in Switzerland, but is saved by his bodyguard Amon Krieg. Alex and Nikita arrive and retrieve him, but are facing off against Amanda's crew. Alex loses Stefan to the mercenaries, while Nikita fights Amanda. They both end up captured by Krieg to find his charge. When he disappears to find Alex, Nikita and Amanda work together to escape, but Amanda abandons Nikita. Krieg confronts Alex and after she confirms that she is following Ari's wishes, they work together to save him. After they rescue him, Alex leads the mercenaries away while the other two escape before local police arrive to arrest Alex and the mercenaries. Nikita plans to spring Alex from police custody before they return to Division, however, Amanda captures Alex first.

14. The Life We've Chosen

Amanda holds Alex in South Ossetia, while telling her that sooner or later, there will be a rift between Alex and Nikita. Amanda offers to release Alex in exchange for Ari. Ari believes she wants him to decrypt the black box; Amanda will no longer find use for him after he does. Ryan authorizes the exchange but implants Ari with a kill chip when the exchange goes through, without Nikita's knowledge. She soon finds out anyway, and she convinces Owen, who is holding the trigger, to abandon the idea of his execution.

Alex befriends another prisoner, Larissa, and during an escape attempt, Larissa is shot and they are both recaptured. The exchange later takes place, after which Nikita intends to rescue Ari. However, Alex decides to find and rescue Larissa. Alex and Sean storms the hospital, but in the process a soldier fires a grenade launcher, and the room carrying Larissa explodes. In the meantime, Nikita and Owen cause a distraction as Ari is forced to use his code for the black box. Ari attempts to escape, but is shot by Amanda. Before he dies, Ari hands Nikita the black box he recovered.

15. Inevitability

CIA agent John Little is killed in Paris, France, by the president of Chad, Pierre Batouala; Little helped Batouala become President for American oil interests in the region. Since Batouala has a list of other CIA agents in his possession, Nikita wants to lead a mission to assassinate him. Disgusted, Alex refuses to take part in the mission. The mission is sabotaged by Zoe, one of the Dirty Thirty, who shoots Batouala and hands the list to Amanda, who wishes Zoe to sell it to Russian buyers. Meanwhile, Alex and Birkhoff follow Danforth, leading to a discovery of a kill house replica of Division.

They deduce that Danforth personally set Division up on the mission so he can authorize the termination of its agents. Alex alerts the agents and plans to kill Danforth to save themselves, however Nikita believes the correct course of action is to find Zoe. After Nikita finds and kills her, she confronts Danforth, having revealed Division has a recording of him in the black box, and convinces him to call off the strike mission, or his involvement would be exposed.

16. Tipping Point

Michael and Nikita break into a building that Heidecker visited to work for an organization Birkhoff calls "the Shop", who produce sophisticated technology. They find a recording of Heidecker, who presents Michael a prosthetic hand, which will be attached if they break into a biotech lab in Nanjing, China, and steal a prion. They succeed, and arrange an exchange; Michael's hand would be attached if she delivers the prion to the Shop. The Chinese also finds them; after Nikita neutralizes them, she hands the prion to an automated car. Meanwhile, Sonya stops a plan to destroy the tracker array of all agents.

Ryan fears Division agents are plotting a mutiny after Alex told them about Danforth's contingency. Alex, Sean and Sonya discover that Rachel is leading it, but during interrogation Ryan learns that Alex is the true engineer; Alex shoots Ryan, who is left in a coma by the time Nikita returns.

17. Masks

When Danforth is found dead, Owen, who was tailing him, goes to clean his home. Amanda waits for him and manages to restore the memories of his past life as Sam Matthews, a sociopathic Delta Force soldier who killed all but one in his unit for trying to take him out of the cut for heroin smuggling in Kosovo. After Owen finds and kills the last survivor in his unit, he captures Nikita and hands her over to Amanda, who tells him to steal the black box and sell it as payment.

Amanda tells Nikita that she also brainwashed Alex in South Ossetia by using her survivor guilt as an escaped sex slave to turn against Nikita; Larissa never existed, but her idea was a catalyst. Alex, meanwhile, hacks into Birkhoff's system and disables the tracking array. With enough agents on her side, Rachel moves up Alex's plan to a hostile takeover of Division, capturing Michael (who was fighting Owen when he learns he stole the black box), Birkhoff, Owen, Sean and Sonya in the process. Rachel tells all the other Division agents to join in their fight for freedom, or be killed on sight.

18. Broken Home

Amanda puts Nikita into a psychotropic trance and makes her imagine she is in the home of Matthew Collins in 1987. Matthew was an army psychologist who ran experiments on his daughter Helen to prevent PTSD on soldiers for years while her twin sister Amanda looked on. It is revealed that Helen killed both Amanda and her father and took her sister's identity; Amanda was Helen. Meanwhile, in Division, Chris orders Birkhoff to shut down Shadownet, but Birkhoff overpowers him and halts the funds transfer to the rest of Division's mutineers.

He is later forced by Owen, also trapped in Division, to help him escape via elevator. Instead he releases Michael and Sean from holding, who capture Owen. Michael decides to allow Owen to escape so he can follow him to Amanda and Nikita. When Michael arrives, Amanda and Owen escape. When the mutiny goes out of hand, Alex kills Rachel when she tries to have Birkhoff killed. After Sonya saves Birkhoff by killing Chris, Birkhoff calls an end to the mutiny, and allows those who want freedom to leave. Sean is revealed to be injured during the crossfire, and dies from internal bleeding in Alex's arms.

19. Self-Destruct

Ryan recovers and learns that all but fourteen of Division's 300 agents have left. To prevent the President from finding out he plans to destroy Division and effectively fake everybody's deaths. Alex has left and goes on a rampage against a local drug and human trafficking gang in Camden, New Jersey. Nikita searches for her and learns Alex is heading for the gang's headquarters. After Nikita is being guided there by corrupt detectives, she finds that Alex stole the gang's funds and is handing them to the prostitutes she released from their imprisonment. Nikita and Michael help Alex get out of her rampage alive and convince her to rejoin Division. After Ryan gives away cover identities and money for the remaining agents, Nikita convinces Ryan to postpone the plan to destroy Division until they find the black box and stop Amanda.

20. High-Value Target

Running on a tip from Cyrus, the team hears that Owen/Sam is running an auction for the black box in a G-20 summit in Toronto, where the intelligence agencies of Brazil, China, Germany, Russia and Turkey are bidding. As Alex, Michael and Nikita embark on the mission to retrieve the black box, a SEAL team arrives, having known about the exodus of its agents. Spencer is willing to allow the agents' freedoms if they succeed in capturing the black box. The Germans win the bid, but the German agent kills his men and leaves before Alex could intercept.

Furthermore, a group retrieves Amanda, who Owen imprisoned. Spencer orders containment after the failure, but Birkhoff, Cyrus, Ryan and Sonya hide. Owen finds Amanda at the docks, and although Amanda escapes, he destroys the black box before disappearing. The team send visual proof of the black box's destruction to Spencer, who calls off the SEAL team and grants them freedom. Their celebration is short-lived however, when they realize Amanda has allied herself with the Shop.

21. Invisible Hand

After learning one of Amanda's Shop partners is called Smith, Nikita survives a trap by the organization in an automated car. Birkhoff recovers a chip from the car that leads to the Shop's secret satellite network, where the team learns Smith is going after Miriam Hasan, a human rights activist that threatens their child kidnapping operation. After Miriam offers Alex a job as a special envoy on human trafficking at the United Nations, Smith attacks Miriam, but is then killed by Nikita. Birkhoff finds a Shop facility in Michigan. Michael and Nikita capture a biologist who was developing an upgraded version of the kill chip, by using nano-cells to rupture every blood vessel in the subject.

When the team realize Miriam was infected in the attack, Alex and Michael save her using their only vial of the antidote. Nikita tracks down Amanda, who reveals that the entire mission was a red herring; Miriam was not infected, but Michael is; the nano-cells were laced inside his prosthetic hand. Amanda is willing to give her the antidote if Nikita assassinates Spencer.

22. Til Death Do Us Part

Amanda bugs Nikita and threatens to activate the nano-cells if any attempt is made to warn Michael. After Nikita leaves Division, the rest of the team discover that she is bugged. Birkhoff jams the signal long enough for Nikita to alert Michael of her dilemma. Alex and Michael find one of the original scientists on the nano-cells project, only to be killed from the nano-cells by Phillip Jones, one of the leaders of the Shop, before an antidote can be made. Michael lies to Nikita that he has been cured.

Nikita stands down and alerts Spencer, but then sees Spencer kill herself; framing Nikita was Amanda's actual goal. To save Michael, Alex and Sonya effectively "kill" him long enough to let the nano-cells die out. Before they can revive him, Amanda sends the rest of the Dirty Thirty, now under her employ, to attack Division. As the team appear outnumbered, Nikita arrives in time, having escaped the White House, and kills the rest of them. After Michael is revived, the team leave Division and destroy it. However, the Spencer who shot herself was actually a double; the real President was captured at the G-20 summit and imprisoned. As the team work out a way to clear Nikita's name, she decides to go on the run, leaving Michael and her engagement ring behind.

Season 4

1. Wanted

Three months after being accused of president Kathleen Spencer's murder, Nikita continues her run in Canada. Meanwhile, Alex, accompanied by Sonya, is trying to find the Shop's location and goes to Mumbai, India, to figure out their next move. Willing to do everything in order to clear her name, Nikita returns to the United States and meets Dale Gordon, a reporter for the news channel ENN — who she thinks can help her clear her name by telling him the truth. This, however, is a setup by Amanda and rest of the Shop, who are using Gordon as a trap, into which Nikita unwittingly falls.

Trying to save herself, Nikita decides to kidnap Gordon. She is saved when Michael makes a deal with the FBI's head director Matthew Graham. On her way to meet Michael, when Nikita is finally able to escape out of the trap, she is shot by Graham, who is revealed as another member of the Shop. Realizing Gordon might help Nikita expose the truth, Graham arranges to have him killed in a bomb explosion. Meanwhile, Alex, who finds out about the Shop's next move in India, is taken by Owen (who now uses his real name — Sam).

2. Dead or Alive

Nikita, who was shot by Graham, is saved by Michael and the others. After Graham frames Nikita publicly for setting up the bomb that killed Dale Gordon, Ryan discovers that the Shop is using people to replace Graham as well as others. Sam/Owen contacts Nikita and reveals that he is looking for revenge by using Alex, who is going to help him find Amanda's location. Birkhoff and Ryan come up with a plan to stop Graham's attacks against Nikita. However, when Michael and Nikita go to kill Graham, Amanda connects to Nikita to warn her that the real Matthew Graham is alive and she will kill him if Nikita kills the impostor.

Alex is taken by the CIA, while Sam is able save Sonya. Ryan deduces that The Shop are planning to start a war between the United States and Pakistan, by stating that Pakistan bought Nikita to kill the president. Also, the tension between Michael and Nikita grows after Michael states he is done fighting for them.

3. Set-Up

Tension grows between the United States and Pakistan after Amanda plants evidence that Pakistan hired Nikita to kill the president. Alex is framed by the CIA for sending Nikita money and helping her. Meanwhile, Ryan tries to find the next impostor that The Shop are going to use and he thinks that it's Birkhoff. Ryan tries to prove it by showing that Birkhoff saved the next impostor. However, Birkhoff reveals to Nikita that his real name is Lionel Peller and that the next impostor by The Shop is actually Ronald Peller — his father.

In order to save Birkhoff's father, Nikita decides to use the impostor to find The Shop's location and save the real one. Michael and Sam are forced to team together in order to save Alex from the CIA. Nikita is forced to kill the impostor after he tries to assault Birkhoff. Meanwhile, Amanda learns the true identity of Birkhoff and the fact that Ronald is his father, and is even more interested in destroying Shadownet.

4. Pay-Off

Jones calls Nikita and offers her and the team complete freedom by wiping away their identities and faking their deaths, only if they quit their mission. After Nikita refuses his offer, Jones decides to stick to the plan and send a missile from Pakistan to the United States. The team lands the plane on a secluded Pakistan air strip, but a local drug czar and his men storm the plane and demand a bribe of ten million dollars, so Nikita calls Alex for money. In Zurich, Switzerland, Alex attempts to take the money.

After she pulls diamonds out of a safe deposit box, Sam sees an opportunity to recoup his losses and contemplates stealing the diamonds, leaving Alex in danger. While leaving Alex in the hotel, he sees that someone is sent to kill Alex, so he returns to save her. Alex realizes that Sam is a threat. Michael confronts an old adversary, Ramon, who is also used by The Shop. Meanwhile, Birkhoff gets a message from his father who helps them in finding The Shop's location. The team goes to Dubai to stop The Shop, who decide to send the missile there. During the attack, Amanda feigns her death.

5. Bubble

Nikita and the team are held in CIA custody at a Naval base. The CIA insists that Nikita tell the whole world about the runnings of Division. After revealing the truth about Division and The Shop, Nikita receives positive feedback and is named a "national heroine". Meanwhile, Alex goes to Paris, France, to save Owen/Sam from a group of men who he owes money. After saving him they admit their feelings for one another and have sex. Ryan is convinced that Amanda is still alive so he goes to visit Jones for answers.

However, when he visits Jones, Ryan is attacked and captured, and later sent to Amanda for interrogation. While being used as hostage, Ryan learns that there are seven other people/impostors who are working with Amanda, and later, while trying to escape, Ryan is shot and mortally wounded, so he commits suicide by throwing himself out of the window. Nikita arrives at the hospital where a dying Ryan reveals to her the whole story. A vengeful Nikita is even more convinced to kill Amanda and the others after Ryan's death, so she decides to ask Alex for help, which she agrees to give.

6. Canceled

Nikita has flashbacks of her time in Division. The Marines are sent to stop her and start shooting, so Michael, Birkhoff and Sam try to convince Nikita to back off. When Nikita kills the rest of the Group, Alex is forced to attack her from behind to save her life. After Alex, Birkhoff and Nikita are arrested, Michael and Sam decide to team up to get them out by tracking down and releasing the Group's imprisoned victims, whose doubles are under Amanda's control throughout the world. While under arrest, Nikita is visited by Amanda.

She is in full control now that all members of the Group are dead. However, Nikita is freed and imprisons Amanda, revealing that she did not kill the other members; she faked their deaths to track down Amanda. Nikita leaves Amanda locked up in the prison, where nobody can find her. Alex and Sam start a relationship, Birkhoff reveals more information about Shadownet to the public, and Michael and Nikita–who are happily married–move to Mompiche, Ecuador, and vow to keep going on missions.
